Mission - About Us

Welcome to the OU College of Pharmacy Residency Training Programs home page. Our goal is to provide excellent preparation for your career in pharmacy, and we firmly believe that you will find your educational experience rewarding at the University of Oklahoma. We are pleased to provide you with information on our residency programs.

The College of Pharmacy, located both on the comprehensive University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) campus in Oklahoma City and the OU Schusterman campus in Tulsa, provides an environment of stimulating clinical training with a consistent tradition of excellence. The College of Pharmacy and its affiliated institutions provide residency programs that meet the standards established by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Accreditation Services Division. The institutional oversight of residency programs and affairs at the OU College of Pharmacy is conducted through its Residency Review Committee (RRC).

OU College of Pharmacy offers a broad range of residencies that includes both PGY1 and PGY2 programs. PGY1 pharmacy and PGY1 community pharmacyare offered as well as PGY2 programs in the following specialty areas: ambulatory care, cardiology, HIV pharmacotherapy, internal medicine, oncology, and pediatrics. As a pharmacist in residency training, your primary responsibilities will be participating in the educational aspects of your program and in the direct care of patients under the supervision of program preceptors. Our programs provide a unique opportunity for enrichment through working with faculty on two campuses who have diverse practice interests. Each program is designed with a degree of flexibility so that learning experiences may be tailored to resident interests.
